Richeous Tiredness

I have created, or prehaps classified, this, er, concept in my head. I have named it, slighly erroniously, richeous tiredness. It is the feeling of being tired and knackered but feeling good about it. It's a special kind of good. I don't get it when I exercise, event hough I'm tired because of a good thing, because I should excersise anyway. For me it is quite rare, it comes from having worked hard, for several days, and sacrificed sleep, for a good, productive reason, that you enjoy. It never comes if the work is enforced or otherwise non optional. It's all about the voluntary. Obviously I talk about it now because I feel it. Like everyone else working on NOTL I've been working late and getting pretty knackered but I love every minute of it. It's a good feeling, possibly the best feeling in the world, and I'm sad to say I get it only rarely. This is one of the reasons I've been working on this film this week instead of working for my re-takes. I consider it one of the reasons to live. I got it when I was Stage Manager at school, I got it after a few select CCF excercises, and I got it a little when working on our group engineering project last year. Obviously like any feeling or emotion it varies in strength. Last night I felt great on a deeply personal level, and I won't go into how that effected me, because it's for me to feel and not to be shared. Sadly today I have taken half a day off to do some work and am feeling less great, but tonight will be back to NOTL.

I'm curious if this is a universal thing or just me.

Day 1

End of day one.

Watched the rushes (the raw footage) and if we continue like to day then this will definately be the best Genius Production to date. Hopefully we'll get some of the amazing photo's posted soon, and if I get time tommorow, the first section of my video diary. I get a half hour lie in tommorow. Woot for scheduling. However...

Rule One of TV: NEVER work with children or animals.

What are we doing tommorow? We're filming with animals.

Fuck.

Theoretically it's extremely simple, it's mostly just a zombie walking his dogs in the park, but with animals everything could go wrong, especially with off screen logistics to do with dogs, cars, hot summers day etc... Not cool. Of course sods law says because I'm really worried it'll be fine, whereas if I was confident we'd be screwed, however this has occured to me, so sod's law says because I know about Sod's law, t's not going to work, and everythign I'm afraid of will happen anywa. We're so boned.

Progress update. This morning we filmed all the scenes we need for the intro credits. Currently Mike, Kate and James are in makeup so that this afternoon we can film scene 6. We had been planning to film some indoor shots at ALi's house, but the lights aren't due to arrive untill tommorow, so we can't. Not quite sure what happend there. Quick re-group later and worked out that we could do scene six. I've come back to my house to make ready for my parents return and feed the dogs. I've left instructions that Mike, Kate and James be...

*phone call*

Ok, change of plans, small party is being dispatched to film Kate outside Ali's house for the begining of scene 8. Parents have just arrived home. More updates later...

Day 1 of filming Night of the Living. This morning we're filming in Exmouth the outdoor scenes for the titles because the weather will be best this weekend. Woke up to find it raining. Personally, at 7:30 in the morning, I find that very funny.
